The building's history
Magarinefabrikken Alfa was established in 1887 and located on Johannes Lauridsen's land just south of the new railway. He was also the initiator of other industries in Vejen. That was when there were 3 large magarine factories in Denmark, and Alfa's buildings the last one left. Alfa's original factory building from 1898 was designed by architect Sophus Petersen and erected in red flan wall with louvre and round-arched windows, and the interior design was adapted to the production.
The building is one of the preservation-worthy buildings in Vejen Municipality and is a regional industrial monument in the designation of the Agency for Culture and Palaces.
